Work-family conflict, entrepreneurial regret, and entrepreneurial outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic

This study aims to propose a clarification on how female entrepreneurs cognitively process their work-family conflict (WFC) experiences during the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, with implications related attitudes toward current entrepreneurial activities. It does so by using social cognitive theory as an overarching theoretical perspective. Our hypothesis sheds light regretful thinking (also known regret) mechanism that elucidates WFC may affect entrepreneurs’ outcomes, such exit intention and work satisfaction. We further proposed family support boundary condition help better respond WFC. develop administer questionnaire survey analyze data from 346 in Japan. The results of our analysis, which is performed bootstrapping method clarify significance moderated mediation mechanism, hypotheses. demonstrate leads higher lower satisfaction through regret. Notably, these become stronger when coupled low support. Finally, we discuss important findings for researchers practitioners highlight opportunities future research.
